...Only better!
Why?
Your friend doesn't pay for hundreds of thousands of feet of warehouse and thousands more of showroom. He calls. He gets it shipped and that's it. Of course he makes something or at least he should, but it is nowhere near what a big box retailer has to charge for overhead.
If it is his main business there are costs involved, but again not the same as retail. So if you can purchase product X from a large retail location or the very same product X from me or another friend in the business, your best bet is with your friend.
You'll get the same manufactures warrantee, because that comes from the manufacturer not the retailer or the friend. And that is the warrantee you need the most. It covers defects and blemishes caused by the manufacturer.
Save even more money by asking for your product X to be left in the boxes, no assembly. If you are up to it, assemble it. If not, a small fee would be necessary to cover the cost of the assembly.
An Ikia furniture store or other huge warehouses make you think your saving money by the way they present their furniture; warehoused, boxed and do-it-yourself. In all reality that is the cheapest way to do it, but you're not seeing the savings, maybe a little, but those prices are still puffed up. Just look at those stores, now that's overhead! And you're paying for it.
We're not that big, that's what makes us better!
